Functions

The following are activities carried out by the MEC in conducting these examinations and tests

• prepare the regulations and schemes of examination  
• study, revise and design the examination syllabus 
• set and prepare question papers and examination materials 
• coordinate the registration of candidates 
• coordinate the conduct of the examination and the marking of candidates’ answer scripts 
• process and check examination results 
• set standards for papers and subjects as well as issue results 
• investigate appeals of examination results  
• train the secretariat and personnel in MEC
• study and conduct research on candidates’ performance and other matters related to examinations
